What is an altruistic dinner party?
Instead of catching up at a restaurant some friends and I had a christmas dinner party at our place and put in $25 per head to donate to a charity of the group's choice. Suggestions included Oxfam, Fistula Hospital, Companion House, Drs Without Borders and the Brian Spurrett Foundation. All were so good in fact that we decided to put the names into a hat and the Brian Spurrett Foundation was the deserving receiver of the $250 raised (with special thanks to Delia & Margee who each donated without even getting dinner)!
